DD Service
Guidelines

We truly appreciate your support of our Designated Driver Program. To ensure everyone’s safety, comfort, and the long-term sustainability of the program, please review our guidelines:

Cost

  • $500 for up to 3 hours of service (typically 9:00 PM – 1:00 AM, but times can be adjusted upon request).

  • Each additional hour: $100.

Payment

  • $100 deposit due at booking via e-transfer to smitherssaltosgymnastics@gmail.com.

  • Final payment is due 2 weeks prior to the event, along with driver confirmation.

Service Time Limits

  • Our volunteer drivers will be stopping at 1am. This means 12:30pm will be the last departure for any people going to Telkwa, and 12:45pm will be the last departure for any people going to Smithers.  Requests after this time cannot be accommodated.  If you would like revisions to these time limits, please let us know 2 weeks prior to the event.

Riding in you Own Vehicle

  • To reduce wear and tear and prevent incidents, we encourage riders to use their own vehicles when possible, with our volunteer driver operating your car.

  • Drivers work in pairs so they can be picked up at the final drop-off location.

  • If you choose to ride in a volunteer’s vehicle and a cleanup is required (e.g., vomit), an additional cleaning fee may apply.

  • For rural events, we recommend organizing drop-offs by area to reduce turnaround time.

Driver Safety

  • All of our drivers have the right to refuse a passenger if they feel there is a safety concern.  This helps to ensure the safety of both the riders and the driver. 

Fundraising Reminder

  • This program raises funds for our competitive gymnastics program. Tipping is always encouraged to thank our volunteers for their time and support.
